Catheterisation

About this course

Our catheterisation training course is designed for all RGNs, enrolled nurses and qualified staff who may have not conducted catheterisation before or require a refresher to update their skill.

Urinary catheterisation is a clinical procedure used to drain or collect urine from the bladder. By the end of this catheterisation course, attendees will be familiar with reasons for catheterisation, the equipment used, and the procedures involve male, female and supra pubic catheterisation.

Please note: this training includes completion of competencies. Competency is achieved in the workplace following the training. Each procedure needs to be signed off by a qualified, senior member of staff.

The completed document can then be used to identify the individuals’ competence.
